About

Greetings, I'm Matt, an artist based in Cornwall, UK, specializing in abstract art but with a strong interest in illustration. My work reflects a fascination with the intersection between physical and digital realities, exploring themes inspired by nature, the human condition, and psychedelics. My creative process is intuitive and spontaneous. I rarely start with a set plan—instead, I embrace experimentation, allowing each piece to evolve naturally. Whether I'm working with traditional mediums, enhancing paintings with generative software, or creating purely digital works, I aim to blur the lines between the physical and digital worlds. This mirrors how we navigate life today—existing both as physical beings and digital avatars.Growing up in the early '90s, I was captivated by sci-fi concepts that once seemed impossible, like AI and virtual realities. Today, with the rise of artificial intelligence and quantum computing, I’m driven by how these technological advancements challenge our perception of reality. While I don't use AI in my work, its presence in modern life fuels my curiosity and influences my exploration of the evolving nature of existence.Through my art, I delve into the colorful, chaotic, and expressive landscape of my inner world, conveying emotions of curiosity, wonder, confusion, and anxiety. Whether digital or physical, the finished pieces often bear little resemblance to their origins, much like the way our online personas can differ from who we are in real life. I aim for each piece to challenge viewers to find meaning within the chaos or question their own perceptions of reality.I began my web3 journey on Solana, where I gained recognition for my digital abstract expressionist paintings. Now inscribing my works onto Bitcoin, I’m expanding my practice to include illustrations and generative art, pushing the boundaries of my creative expression even further.Feel free to connect with me on Twitter @acidhatmat if you’d like to learn more about my work or creative process.
